If you think that the tutorials are good, just imagine how good our lessons are!

The Car Controls and Cockpit drill

This is the first lesson that we'll be doing together, and it's really important that you get off to a great start . . . This fact sheet will remind you of the cockpit drill and how important it is to get the car controls set up just right!

Moving Off and Stopping

When you learn how to Move Off from the side of the road, it's important to do so safely . . . You'll need to learn the POM routine to make sure that each and every time you move off it's safe and under full control

We'll also be looking at what a 'Safe, Convenient and Legal' position is for stopping at the side of the road This will be your introduction to the most important routine in driving . . . the msm (or ms-psl) routine. MSM is the routine that we use to deal with each and every hazard that we see on the roads as we drive

Approaching Junctions

The Approaching lesson is the first time that you'll really use the msm routine in some 'real' driving situations! In this lesson, we'll look at turning into a side road from a main road, under full control and in total safety

It's really important to work hard at this lesson and get the foundations just right . . . the better you can use the msm routine now, the better and easier your driving will become

Emerging From Junctions

This is the next step! Now that you've learned to Approach junctions properly, we can concentrate on Emerging. Emerging is leaving a side road and 'merging' into the traffic on the main road, usually through a 'give way' or 'stop' junction You'll really develop your control of the car at slow speeds on this lesson, and you'll learn about the coordination needed to control the car using good clutch control

Emergency Stop

On this lesson we'll learn the Emergency Stop which will allow you to bring the car to a complete stop in case of anything unexpected happening in front of you . . . Only about one in three driving tests include the Emergency Stop, so you probably won't get asked to do it on your test

You need to make sure that you can do it properly anyway . . . because one day you may just be very glad that you did

Anticipation and Planning

When you learn the skills of Anticipation and Planning, you can usually avoid any need to do the emergency stop! This is a subject that will be a constant theme throughout your lessons, right up to your driving test

Adequate Clearance

Adequate Clearance deals with the skill of leaving a safety bubble all around the car You need to make sure that you have enough space to the front and back of the car, and not just to the sides

Again, this is a subject that will run through all of your lessons, and you'll learn to give the correct clearance right up to your driving test

Crossroads

Use this fact sheet to remind yourself of the correct way to deal with Crossroads, and how to do the all important observations

You'll use the ms-psl routine to deal with crossroads safely, and you'll definitely drive through at least one or two on your test!

Pedestrian Crossings

You'll find them in town, near to roundabouts and busy junctions, close to the shops . . . Pedestrian Crossings are everywhere and we need to deal with them safely at all times

As well as being found almost everywhere, pedestrian crossings come in many different flavours and shapes . . . zebras, pelicans, toucans and many more . . . the good news is that we deal with them all by using the same routine . . . ms-psl . . . and you've learned that already!

Mirrors and Signals

As you drive you'll need to take in the information around you, and give other drivers the information they need about what you intend to do

Good use of your Mirrors and Signals will help you to see what's happening all around you, and to make sure that you tell other drivers all they need to know . . . it's all just about taking and using information effectively and safely

Reverse Left

You'll soon find that you'll be learning all the manoeuvres that you need to know to pass the driving test . . . The Reverse Left is a great exercise that helps you to develop your coordination and car control skills, and with a little help and practice, you'll soon have it covered!

Turn In The Road

This fact sheet will help you to learn all you need to know about the Turn in the Road . . . As always, the observations are the key to driving test success Practice your control skills, stay calm, keep the car moving slowly, keep up the observations and you'll soon be up to test standard

Parallel Park

In this lesson you'll learn all about the Reverse Park, sometimes called the parallel park

Once you've mastered this manoeuvre, you'll be able to park the car in restricted spaces. This is an exercise that often takes some practice to master, but with me helping you, we'll soon get there together!

I'll be adding more downloads soon, so please feel free to check back regularly
